Night Train (2009) Movie Review

Review by Siddhartha on 24th January 2009

Film Tiger Productions "Night Train" is not a pleasant viewing unless if you like the horror of the abnormal proportions type movies. What else can be said of a movie where you can see a human being being chopped off into different pieces and put into a box.
The movie begins with a train chugging through the snow filled landscape for a journey to its destination. In a station where the train stops a stranger (Luca Bercovici) gets into the train with a small parcel in his hand.
In the train he meets his co-passengers Chloe (Leelee Sobieski) a medical student and Pete (Steve Zahn) a marketing executive. Considering the freezing snow outside pete decides to have a drink and pops one to the stranger and he accepts it with thanks. Read More

Review by Siddhartha on 21st January 2009

City of Ember is a movie for those who enjoy the fantasy or the sci-fiction type movies but for others this would be an unmeaningful film. The movie begins on a note where the human race is on the verge of extinction and all the wise men in the society decide to build an underground town which is designed to last for 200 years. The town has got all glittering lights which is powered by a generator. When the designated 200 years arrive the generator breaks down and all sort of problems crop up in this sci-fiction movie. Read More

Villu Movie Review

Review by Siddhartha on 20th January 2009

The Sucessful Pair of "Prabhu Deva & Vijay" have come together once again to re-create the same magic in "Villu" (Bow) that "Pokkiri" had acheived. But in the end they have not been very successful in their attempt to replicate the same result. The director who had decided to re-make the hindi hit "Soldier" into tamil decided to add too much masala into it which has spoiled the entire dish. There are too much elements that have been compromised in the movie in a motive to please the die hard vijay fan. Read More

Passengers Movie Review

Review by Siddhartha on 18th January 2009

"Passengers" is a movie which belongs to the thriller genre. But when we sit through the movie all we get is only disappointment. The theme of the story seems to be so familiar to us especially when the director decides to copy movies like "Sixth Sense" and "The Others". In the end of it all the efforts put in by the cast and crew turns out to be a damp squib.
The director "Rodrigo Garcia" after his 2005 superhit "Nine Lives" has let his talents drop down to such low levels by virtue of this movie. Read More

Chandni Chowk To China Movie Review

Review by Siddhartha on 16th January 2009

One of Hollywood's major production house "Warner Bros" could have asked for a better bollywood debut than "Chandni Chowk to China". Akshay Kumar and the team of talented actors have brought forward a movie which is a Bollywood kungfu comedy type movie where the buzz word is supposed to have been fun from start to finish. This movie would have been pretty nostalgic for Akshay kumar personally due to the reason that he before stepping into bollywood grew up in Chandni Chowk and was a chef in Bangkok before lady luck smiled on him. Vicky Cristina Barcelona Movie Review

Review by Siddhartha on 13th January 2009

"Vicky Cristina Barcelona" which has won the Golden Globe award for the best musical movie (I would not consider this movie on the comedy genre as this movie is much to do with the emotions of the charecters rather than any comic happenings).

Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) are two girls who are on a summer vacation to Barcelona from New York.Though Vicky and Cristina are good friends they do not get along in one thing and that is their perception on love. Read More
